The OSU Student Chapter of the American Nuclear Society is excited to host Dr. James Dark for a workshop focused on FESTIM, an open‑source tool used to model hydrogen isotope behavior in materials. As part of ANS’s ongoing effort to highlight impactful open‑source software in the nuclear field, this workshop offers students a unique opportunity to learn directly from an expert whose work intersects with fusion materials, isotope separation, and computational modeling.
Participants will gain an introduction to FESTIM’s capabilities, see practical examples, and explore how the software can support research in nuclear materials and plasma‑facing components. This event is ideal for students interested in simulation tools, fusion research, or expanding their computational skill set. Food will be provided.
